What is PRP?

PRP is a treatment which uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve your complexion and skin texture. The PRP that is derived from this process contains protein growth factors that assist in tissue repair, cellular growth and collagen production.

PRP can be injected into the skin and other tissue of the face or body or can be used in conjunction with a Microneedling procedure. Injectable PRP is placed into the skin or other tissue using a needle and or a cannula. There are no risks of allergic reactions or rejection since the PRP is derived from your own blood cells.

How Does PRP Treatment Work?

  1. Blood is drawn from a patient and transferred into a vial.
  2. The blood sample is placed into a centrifuge for approximately 10 minutes to separate the platelets from other components of the blood, which activates the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
  3. The PRP is injected back into the patient’s body or it is implemented in conjunction with a Microneedling procedure.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

PRP is typically done in a recommended series of 3-4 treatments, spaced out 4-8 weeks from the previous procedure.
